Saturn
Saturn is the boundary and the bill. It governs discipline, time, authority and the slow accumulation of anything worth having, and it is the planet most associated with maturity — which is another way of saying it teaches by making things cost something.

In Your Chart
Saturn's house shows where the work is and where you are hardest on yourself. Its return around the age of twenty-nine is the most widely reported transit in astrology, for reasons only partly astrological.

Structure, Limit and Consequence
Saturn governs discipline, time, authority and the slow accumulation of anything durable. It takes about twenty-nine and a half years to circle the zodiac.
It is the planet most associated with maturity, which is another way of saying it teaches by making things cost something. The classical tradition called it the greater malefic.
Modern practice reads it less morally and more structurally: Saturn is where the work is, where the limits are real, and where anything built will actually hold.
In the Chart
Saturn's house shows where you are hardest on yourself and where competence has to be earned rather than assumed.
It commonly describes an area of early difficulty that becomes a genuine strength later, which is the most consistent observation in the traditional material about it.
Aspects from Saturn slow and formalise whatever they touch. Saturn with Mercury is careful and often late-developing thinking; Saturn with Venus is caution in relating and durability once committed.
The Saturn Return
Saturn returns to its natal position at about twenty-nine, again near fifty-eight, and for the fortunate around eighty-eight. The first is the famous one.
It is read as a period of reckoning: commitments tested, structures either built properly or dismantled, an accounting of what the twenties actually produced.
An enormous number of people report that it landed. The honest complication is that twenty-eight to thirty is a period of structural reckoning in most industrialised societies for entirely mundane reasons, and the two accounts are not separable.
Why It Is Not Falsifiable
Saturn transit interpretation is flexible enough to be very difficult to be wrong about. Difficulty confirms it, productivity confirms it as discipline rewarded, and nothing much confirms it as internal work.
That is a structural feature of how the readings are framed rather than a criticism of any individual one, and it means confirmation cannot count as evidence in the way it appears to.
The defensible use is as a scheduled prompt to examine your commitments, which is worth doing every few years regardless of what prompted it.
