Pisces is mutable water traditionally ruled by Jupiter and modernly by Neptune — the last sign, and the one with the least fixed edges. It takes in whatever surrounds it, which produces real empathy and real difficulty maintaining a boundary. The escapism it is known for is usually a response to how much it is absorbing rather than a character flaw.
Pisces gives itself over completely and is frequently unclear about where it ends and the other person begins. It is tender, intuitive and easy to be loved by. The recurring difficulty is idealisation: Pisces falls for a version of a person and then must survive discovering the real one, and it tends to blame itself for the gap.
Pisces belongs in work with an imaginative or caring dimension — the arts, therapy, medicine, anything requiring intuition about people. It performs poorly in rigid, adversarial or purely numerical environments. It needs structure supplied from outside, and thrives when someone else handles the scaffolding.
The least naturally systematic sign about money. Pisces avoids looking, is generous past its own means and is more vulnerable than most to being taken advantage of. It does far better with an automated arrangement or an involved partner than with any plan requiring sustained personal attention.
