PISCES: THE JOKE IS OVER — YOU’RE HEADING FOR TROUBLE: What You Must Stop Doing, Who You Should Never Trust, and What’s Coming Your Way!
Who You Should Never Trust Right Now
Pay close attention to the people who praise your flexibility. There is someone in your circle right now who frequently tells you how easygoing you are, how you never complain, how lucky they are to have someone so understanding in their life. Listen carefully to when they say it. They usually say it right after they change plans at the last minute, ask you to cover for them, or cross a boundary you thought was clear. They are not complimenting you. They are training you to accept less. They have figured out that if they frame your lack of boundaries as a virtue, you will feel guilty for ever trying to enforce them. Do not trust anyone whose affection for you depends entirely on your willingness to accommodate them.
Be equally cautious with the person who only reaches out when they are in crisis. You probably know exactly who this is. Their name lights up your phone late at night or early on weekend mornings. They need advice, a place to stay, or someone to listen while they process a breakup or a fight with their family. You show up every time because you genuinely care. But notice what happens when your life gets complicated. Notice if they ask how your job interview went, or if they remember that appointment you were nervous about. Often, they do not. The dynamic has become transactional, even if neither of you signed a contract. You are functioning as an unpaid therapist, and they have grown comfortable taking without reciprocating. That imbalance will break something in you if you keep ignoring it.
Watch out for the romantic partner or prospect who loves your depth but refuses to meet it. This is the person who enjoys your late night conversations, your intuition, and your ability to see the best in them. Yet, when you express a fear or a need, they pull away. They might call you too sensitive. They might change the subject or tell you that you are overthinking. Someone who wants the comfort of your empathy without offering any security in return is not looking for a partner. They are looking for a sanctuary. And sanctuaries do not get taken care of. They just get used until the foundation cracks.
