CANCER, THINK TWICE BEFORE ANSWERING TONIGHT! Someone Who Hurt You May Be Looking for a Way Back In!

The Power of Leaving Them on Read

Choosing not to respond is not petty. It is not a game. It is the loudest boundary you can possibly set. For someone who is used to you always being available, always being willing to talk it out, silence will be deafening. They might double text. They might try a different platform. Let them. Their urgency is not your emergency.

If you genuinely feel, after sleeping on it, that there is something you need to say for your own closure, wait until tomorrow afternoon. Wait until the sun is up, your coffee is made, and you are standing firmly in your own life again. Respond from a place of clarity, not longing. Ask yourself what you actually need from them. Is it an apology? A change in behavior? A concrete plan to make things right? If they cannot offer those things in broad daylight, they certainly will not deliver them in the dark.

You are allowed to miss someone and still refuse to let them back in. You are allowed to love the memories while recognizing that the present reality was toxic. Tonight, Cancer, your phone might buzz. Your heart might race. But your peace is worth more than their sudden curiosity. Think twice. Then put the phone away.
